Zombies in Kelowna

As posted by Castanet News

The horde grew until there were two hundred of them. Some were missing limbs, others had extra limbs. There were old zombies and young zombies and even baby zombies. Several of the undead brought their dogs . . . and yes, man's best friend can become a zombie.
One had a puck in her cheek, another had a pencil in his neck, others had sharp tools protruding from their skulls, most of them had blood on them, even the dancing undead ballerinas had red on their tutus.
Organizers had hoped to raise 400 from their resting places, but only 200 walking corpses dared to come out in the afternoon sun.
"Well it's huge everywhere else so why not bring it to Kelowna," said nurse dread, with blood dripping from a massive wound on her face. She's known as Gen Duchesne, and the Zombie walk was her idea.
"It's fun being a Zombie and I'm a big Halloween fan, and horror fan. It's not something you see everyday and it's fun. We were hoping for more to come out in the sun."
The zombie ballerinas were asked what it takes to be a zombie. The answer shouldn't surprise us.
"It's easy," said the bleeding dancer. "You just have to be dead."
A zombie photographer with a bullet hole in his forehead managed a few words.
"I love to dress up; for pirate day, Halloween, zombie day, it's great," says Justin Bayes.
An undead bride, dressed in her finest bloodiest bridal gown, was catching a few eyes. She blamed her state on the best man.
"I got the dress from one of my in-laws and I thought it was a great idea," she said from behind her red soaked veil.
The group then lurched around downtown before heading back to their lairs. The parade of dead surprised many people, most laughed and took pictures, a few decided to watch from a distance.
It's not known how many new people might have been infected, if they do join the ranks of the undead, maybe we'll see them in the next Zombie Walk.

Zombies Protest Today!!!

Zombies Protest Today!!!

4:30 pm at the Kelowna Art Galley

Water Street Kelowna, BC

For years Zombies have had a bad rap and every year they are taken the wrong way at Halloween.

The Zombies are protesting to ensure that people understand that they really want to be part of the living.

They are tired of:

·         cramp and damp living condition
·         poor air quality
·         bad lighting
·         no royalties being paid for Thriller Video

Protesting to change people’s opinions:

·         Zombies are people too
·         Raise the Dead not Taxes
·         We support Organ Donors
·         Will work graveyard shifts
·         Make Halloween a Stat Holiday

Halloween is an infringement on the right of all Zombies and now they are perceived.  They want to rise from the dead and live in the land of the living showing their good nature.

Hal Puder of Tickle Trunk says he’s totally in support of their demands.

Puder say’s “We have always had an amiable working relationship with the Zombies for years.”

The public needs to step forward and do their part to help Zombies be accepted into society by introducing 100’s of Zombies on October 15th 2011 4:00pm at City Park”

The Tickle Trunk Presents - The Zombie Theme Party

The Tickle Trunk presents the Zombie Theme Party as our Halloween theme party idea.
Zombies are prevalent in movies & since many recent ones are spoofs (Shawn of the Dead, Fido, Zombieland), they aren’t taken too seriously so ‘kids of all ages’ enjoy portraying them.
Zombies can be one of the most economical yet effective costumes in popular culture so many people are able to participate in events like Zombie Walks & Zombie parties.

Decor Ideas:
One of our main suppliers has taken part in this popular theme with a 4’ x 20’ Zombie Wall Scene that is a large mural you place one atop the other to cover walls (using Sticky Tack or masking tape.)
They’re great value for $29.99 for 80 sq.ft. of Zombie graphics!

We are also carrying 6’ Zombie cut-outs @ $12.99, 100’ rolls of Zombie ‘Caution Tape’ @ $5.99, Zombie Crossing Signs @ $1.99 & “I Zombies” plates, napkins & foil balloons.

Costume Ideas

The Zombie picture shown is using liquid latex ($4.99), Mehron Tri-Colour Skeleton palette ($9.99), Mehron Nicotine Tooth Fix ($11.49) & single ply toilet paper. You can also use oatmeal or any other breakfast cereal for different textures.
Simple, cheap & effective but takes a little time & attention to detail—like don’t get latex in your hair! You can take your Zombie effect to new heights with the use of modelling waxes, injury make-up, blood gel & theatrical dirt (yes, really), spider web, plastic (or real) bugs & flies & preformed
latex prosthetics.
Come to the Zombie walk with your camera for, literally, hundreds of ideas. What you wear is easy when you start hacking, burning & even burying for authentic grime & smell!
